Not too long ago, in the beginning of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, one of my clients said: "One thing is for sure: nobody gets outta here alive...and somehow I want to leave a legacy. Can you help me?"
It took me a moment to realize that she was not referring to the virus...she made a profound statement of life in general...and an old idea of mine popped back into my mind again: The QR Memory Marker!
I had designed the concept almost 10 years ago, just before my mother passed. See...when someone dies or passes on, all that is left are memories. Memories in form of slides or videotapes, film reels or photo albums. Only some of us have an actual "treasure", by having a voice recording somewhere and can bring those memories back by replaying them. But what about the next generation...or the one after that....will they remember?
All that led me to the creation of the QR Memory Marker in 2010. I was bouncing the idea around what it would be like to have a website that could contain a person's life story. You log in and can see pictures of your loved ones, read the obituary and maybe even their eulogy and more. Unfortunately, life took over and the idea was moved to the back burner!
Now the world is different than ever before and I decided to "re-awaken" my old concept and make it my life-purpose to create an affordable tool for every family to leave a legacy behind! I've re-defined the concept of the QR Memory Marker, streamlined the process and designed different options and made it so affordable, that YOU can create a true legacy! I've designed this product not only for the ones that have passed, but also for the ones that are still with us! What am I talking about?
Introducing the QR Memory Marker
Just imagine: You walk into someone's house. You see a picture on the wall with a little black-dotted square in the corner: that's a QR code!. Just imagine: you visit a cemetery and look at a gravestone that does not only have a name and dates on it...but also a small square metal plate with black dots etched into it: that's a QR code as well! And THAT is the QR Memory Marker! In a "nutshell": just scan that QR code with your smart device, phone or tablet and your screen will show the life story, the life journey of that particular person!
Sure...all that has to be "put together" and stored somewhere. And that's where I come in: I am Michael Phillips and founder of the QR Memory Marker. On this explanation page I am outlining the opportunity for any individual to pack a life long of information into a tiny square (the QR code) and tell a story...and share their memories! And its true: every one of us has a story to tell....a story about life. No matter if we were soldiers, firemen, police officers, famous athletes, actors, attorneys, doctors, teachers, journalists, bus drivers or janitors. It is pretty obvious: all of us have lived and experienced life in a different way!
The QR Memory Marker allows us to share WHO we were or who we ARE...it gives us a chance to tell our own life story. It is a unique appreciation to share moments and memories that just shouldn't be forgotten!
