Allen J. Wirkus Sr, 75 of 63 E. Cotton St., died Thursday, April 7, 1994, at St Agnes Hospital He was born July 13, 1918, in Edgar, a son of Stephen and Magdalene Boser Wirkus. On August 22, 1942 he married Leah Sturtz in Fon du Lac Mr. Wirkus farmed and later was employed at Rueping Leather Company for 15 years. He then worked for 25 years as a supervisor for the city of Don du lac in the parking meter utility devision.During WWII he served in Europe in the Army Infantry from 1943 to 1945. He was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church. Survivors include his wife; six children: Eugene and his wife Beatriz of Kansas City, MO; Sandra Bray and her husband David of Dotyville and Kathleen Gehling and her husband Gerald of Mesa, AZ; Allen Jr. and his wife Barbara of Malone, Susan Shine of Fond du Lac, WI and Daniel Wirkus and his friend Kelly of Fond du Lac, WI; 11 Grandchildren, one brother, Marvel Wirkus and his wife Hazel of North Don du Lac, WI; and two sisters Beulah Urso of Besonville, IL and Virgilla Calello and her husband Eugene of Anaheim, CA. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Dallas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, at Luther Memorial Church. The Rev. John H. Johannes will officiate. Burial will be at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Sunday at Mach Funeral Chapel and at the church Monday from 10:00am to the hour of service. |
